Goodbye Greeny

Goodbye Greeny,

Soobrang badtrip ako before I left for the US. I went home to to prepare for the trip, packed my stuff, work clothes, padala, toiletries and of course looked for greeny my travelling slippers. A month ago we had our house painted, so everyone was moving stuff all over, I assumed someone moved stuff from my room so I called on our maid to find out where greeny was . I asked her had she seen my green slippers, she said much to my horror that they threw greeny away because it was already too worn down. I was sooooooper pissed off, I even taped, super glued and did all sorts of stuff just to try to keep greeny from breaking down completely and here our maid and probably even my mom made the mistake of throwing one of the most traveled slippers in the Philippines. That slipper practically went to all the places Ive went too, All over the US, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, France, India , and a lot of major tourist sites all over the Philippines. There was one time I got a point and shoot camera wet just because greeny slipped off my foot going down from a boat in boracay so I had to jump and grab him before the tide gets him. NAMAAAAN. My Greeny gallery in flickr and multiply has had hundreds of hits already on the net, people I don’t know from different parts of the globe know greeny. Its more popular than me for crying out loud. One of the first questions that a manager from our client here in the US asked me was how was my green flip flops, I told him greeny got thrown away. On the side I also felt sad knowing how my family has very little idea now how I live or who I am now, they’ve probably haven’t even ready my blog or seen my multiply site , although having my mom not seeing some of the photos I’ve took is kinda like a good thing (Leny why are you smiling) , its like me bringing home a superman #1 comic and my family would just see it as a kids book. Anyway that’s a whole different thing, but what can I do now? Using greeny as a subject for travel photos was perfect, it was very Filipino, it was obnoxiously green that makes it stand out like a sore thumb, it’s a cheapass slipper not even a nice brand like havaianas or even Spartan , even the history when I bought greeny was just right. I bought greeny during my first ever vacation I paid for myself , going to Cebu and realizing I didn’t bring any slippers so I ended up buying at the resort gift shop which didn’t have much of a selection, only some cheap but overpriced slippers colored electric green with red stripes after that I would always bring greeny to all my vacations thinking I can leave greeny on any beach, swim , then get back with no one stealing him . Now what? Probably I’m over reacting for a P60 pair of slippers maybe I just need to look for something new to do. Time to move on ..time to move on..

So after 8 countries , 14 cities, 5 beaches , 2 volcanoes, from the streets of paris , to the white sands of bracay, bye greeny ang tsinelas ng bayan.

Maybe that's why you're affected by greeny's loss.

    Yun lang..

    Cheers!!!

  • nakakalungkot naman... =(
