Always Keep it COOOOL

I've conceded already that stress will be part of my everyday life, the key now is to do my best to not let it get to me. I learned a few lessons 2 weeks ago on a very long and errand filled day.

I have a bank account that was opened for a business we setup, it took almost 5 trips to the bank each time we end up missing a requirement or 2 so we had to go back. It took almost 2 hrs each time per trip waiting in line and stuff as this was a very popular bank. Why we got chose it is another long story.

2 weeks ago, I had to deposit a check so I stood in line in another branch of my bank to do the deposit, no biggie since I figured it was a simple transaction... a deposit. after 15min in line I got to the teller and she informed me that the date on the check wont be valid until 2 more days. So ok, my bad, I went on my way. 2 Days later I returned, I deposited the check only to find out that the bank account only accepted cash deposits, weird but I kept cool and the teller offered to fax the check for me to the actual branch I have my account. Cool , no hassle no worries. A day later I found out that I used the wrong account number since we moved from one account number to another due to the problems I had before when opening the account. Weird the teller never told me the account was closed since that should have popped up the monitor..anyway still my bad so I have to go to Quezon City and do all the transactions there. Next day I went with my friend since we had to use his car, I got out of home and we laughed at how everytime we do a transaction at this bank it never gets simple. There's always a thing. We left my apartment then I suddenly remembered I needed the bankbook . My friend and I laughed , I said "kala nya ha!" it would have been very normal for us to end up driving all the way to QC without a bankbook as we've always had a string of badluck or what we call challenges whenever we go to the bank.

So we went back to my apartment, I search hopelessly for the bankbook but couldnt find it, I was starting to get stressed so I took a deep breathe smiled at the situation. I took it as another challenge , I recomposed myself and remembered I left the bankbook at the office in my laptop bag. Got back to the office and all was cool, We were an hour behind from schedule but that was fine at least we were on our way. We chose Edsa and suprisingly at 1030am it was traffic. Again we took it as a challenge , car cant fly, no use stressing about it ,again we laughed at how things are working out. Got to the bank way beyond schedule since we had a long day ahead , When I got to the teller she told me there was something wrong with the name of the check since we registered a company name for our restaurant. Had to think fast , I told the teller if they could make an exception as its a common mistake and the check came from a really faroff place. Voila , that worked , had a short scolding from the teller but that was alright, got the check deposited and got the cash I needed. Onto Quiapo.. We opened up a restaurant and we had to buy plates , pans and a whole host of utensils. Just our luck, my friends car had no tint and everynow and then his aircon would stop. Cant do anything about it, getting pissed off doesnt make the air cooler so just laugh at it. After running back and forth in quiapo we finished all the shopping and I had to run to another meeting which I was super late. Thank goodness I was able to reason my way out of being late so I didnt get much heat about it.

All the time we kept to our wits and just made sure we did our best during the situation. I'm trying to do that now whenever something stressful comes around? As long as I know there was nothing better that I could have done, then Ill try just to smile it off since the stars are just simply not going in my favor. Being angry or panicking doesn't help one bit . Being angry or getting hysterical has no mystical power to change the course of destiny it actually makes things worst. Of course controlling it is a super challenge in itself. So I try to work it out one challenge at a time. At least on that Day I think my friend and I did quite good in keeping cool. Our Mantra "Challenge lang yan".
