Hole in the Wall: Star Celestial Cafe
I love discovering and going to places which are hidden treasures. Ill try to blog more about them , discovering great restaurants which are hidden or are cult favorites. Not like the mall restaurants which have kickass ambience , best that money can buy furniture but whose food is a dime a dozen...at ang mahal pa!!! I call this restaurants , places who have little personality, all smoke and mirrors. A lot of the restaurants in Posh greenbelt 2-3 are like that. You wouldnt see the owner their cooking and stuff, he would be visiting from time to time overlooking the staff he pays to run the restaurant. Ok sorry, enough said .. let me introduce you to one of my favorite neighborhood restaurant place in makati...Star Celestial Cafe. Which I personally believe has the best tapa in metro manila.
Star Celestial Cafe is at the back of Makati Square (MCS) at Amorsolo St, Makati. Maliit ang sya parang carideria/restaurant type. I like eating there kasi me TV, nothing beats eat bulaga and lunch lalo na pag marami tao medyo tumatagal ang order. The other thing I like about it , although to some this is nothing, when you work in the office and rent out an apartment eating in restaurants everyday...homestyle cooking is something you look forward to. Bagong luto ang food sa Celestial, plus kilala ko yung mga waiter so kahit umorder ako tapos babalikan ko na lang order ko para makabili muna ng dvd, pwede!
The food...winner ang boneless bangus , of course tapa, tocino , pork steak, steamed tilapia, every once in while yung fried chicken nila eh inoorder ko rin. Food is nothing fancy, just good old home cooking, no garnishes or anything, pero masarap. Nothing exquisite, price is around P50-100 per meal, kasama na extra egg. Of course di mawawala ang Free soup. Food is like eating at your favorite carinderia when you where a student..unless sosyal ka at you consider Max's a carinderia.. yuck how sozzy.
In the evenings mey pa videoke pa..agents and office workers would hangout and have few beers and belt out a song or two. Ako I just eat there. Dont go there for the ambiance, kasi wala kang maoorder na ganon don.
Ang cool lang sa Celestial Cafe is walang silang cafe, or kung meron man eh instant 3 in 1 pa. Pero wala man cafe, the best pa rin ang homestyle food nila.
