Glam Contests

For Almost the Past 2 months tinutulungan ko yung friends ko with their event. Bale Search for Ms. Artic Vodka, I do the photography and covering the events, kasama ko yung friend ko si mike. I did learn a lot about human behaviour with this contest, specially with girls kasi sila madalas makainteract ko.

Meron girls na talagang fits the bill of stereotype model types.. Bitchy at feeling. Meron naman I feel who are quite slow..meron naman talagang talented. Meron naman Meron seryoso about sa career meron naman for fun lang. Meron rin yung isang favorite kong kasali kasi parang energizer bunny.. always on the go.

Meron yung favorite ko which is the important thing I learned from the whole experience , meron yung user lang.. There were those na nakita ko ang style, tipong pabait effect..gaya nung ibang nalapit sa amin ni mike , kunwari friendly friendly para humingi ng pix..pero it is the only reason why they do..para makuha pix nila then dedma dedma na which is truly fine kasi once nakita ko na yun ganon.. eh I dont take em seriously. And I also gave there pix , si mike parang ayaw pa nya bigay kasi naiinis sya sa ganon, ako naiinis din pero yoko na makainteract so binigay ko na ang pix nila.

Meron rin yung ang ganda ganda..pag kinausap mo.. barok.. walang ka finesse finesse.. tipong nagpapasahan kami kausapin kasi nakakainis kausap ..

I also remember one incident na kinaasaran namin, we were planning ono a photoshoot, tapos payag na kami ni mike na kami gagastos, so all the model had to do was show up. Ang isang shoot kasi eh magastos and mahirap isetup, kaialngan ng magandang venue and stylist, plus photographer and lights. Isang production ang isang shoot. Nakausap namin ang ilang models.. OO sila sa shoot, panay ang OO , excited and stuff, then sige tuloy kami planning ni mike, kinabukasan on shoot day di nasagot sa text. Buti di nagingavailable ang stylist that day and walang bayad sa venue. When we asked them they couldnt comeup with a good reason nor a reason why they didnt respond o magsabi..well terribly unprofessional sila and yet indi suprising. Well ginawa namin ni mike, natuloy ang shoot with yung isang model na ok kausap and who we had in mind talaga for the shoot ..we did a kickass shoot and showed the pictures nung sumunod na event.. syempre pinakita namin pangiinggit don sa mga nangindian. Eat your heart out ladies.

Medyo tricky ang contest na yun kasi popularity contest sya..parang contest ng mga balota sa mga fiesta. You get big points if you buy an artic vodka bottle, so technically even if you dont show up at the contest you could win..pero its kinda weird to join a contest for money if you spend more than the prize.. According to a friend of mine, meron isang swerte ang friend nya na mayaman..imbes na bumili ng wine bottles for Christmas, bumili ng Artic Vodka and binigay sa kanya ang stub. I was rooting for the contestant who really worked hard for their points, kita mo kialla sila ng mga tao and they attend all the events with gusto...yung iba nagattend lang para sa points pero nakaupo lang sa isang tabi waiting for people to want to talk to them . Well ganun talaga ang contest , sometimes you just have to beat the system .

Meron rin nakilala kami na professional beauty queen contestants.. talagang meron pala non just like in the movies (i.e pinay pie, bikini open) . Iba ang lakad kasi ng beauty queen contest and ramp model.. makikita mo talaga yung beauty queen smile, walk and wave.. parang nanonood ka ng pageant.

Meron din mga me kasama palaging entourage, siguro ganon talaga. Kasama ang family as assistants,iba kasi ang kasama yung family for moral support, meron kasi talaga na andon ang family na makikita mo sa mukha na alam na nila ang gagawin like kuha ng makeup, retouch etc..parang they've done it all before. Professional Stage family.

Meron rin na talgang for the fun of it sumali , yon ang mga ok kasama kasi indi nakikipagpagandahan .. talagang just for fun lang, indi ma-ere.

Meron naman talaga na sadyang gig talaga nila ang modelling, like the working students na they do iba ibang gigs like modelling, extra work and even promo girl work kasi theyre truly using there beauty to earn a living. They are either waiting for their big break or at least just to earn an honest buck.

Well kahit san siguro iba iba ang tao and the beauty contest is nowhere different. Kinda different lang because most of them are beautiful but not all are beautiful in the inside as well.
