CD Offer

Badtrip nung isang beses nasa Makati Square ako (The Home of Piracy in Makati) , I Was looking at CD's for my Car , so andon ako sa stack na panay rock , and I was looking at some house CD's rin for those occasions na me mga kasabay akong hindi mahilig sa rock. . BAAADDDTRIP! Hindi naman ako 40 yrs old or Gay... napaisip isip tuloy ako dapat wag ako lalambot lambot pag nandon ako.

Baguio Road Trip

2 Weeks ago nag roadtrip ako with a friend. Supposedly I was suppose to go with a group of friends, kaso nagkaproblem sa schedule so di ako nakasama..kaso yung week na yon is supposedly the coldest time of this year , parang its a must to go to Baguio dahil below 10 daw ang temp. Luckily a good friend of mine went with me and masaya kasama yung friend ko na yon at cowboy so it made the whole trip a lot easier kahit 2 lang kami.

My Goal during that trip is of course to feel the bone chilling cold and get pictures of baguio from a different perspective, lastly ang pagbreak in ko kay Aia (my Car). Mga tipong uncommon shots. We Did the night climb to baguio via Naguillan , we stopped a few times to rest taking our time in reaching the city.

Sounds and Crowd is almost the same. Went to UP Baguio to do an errand, got some pictures din. Ate at a restuarant Forrest Grill or something, maganda ang view ayos overlooking...its a must pero be warned na malaki ang serving kasi kami hanggang dinner sausage kinakain namin. Syempre went to camp john hay for pictures and get some chocolate, yung batirol chocolate..syet ang sarap magbati..rol.
Strawberry Jam at good shepperd , and a quick trip at mines view. Cool rin pala ang na stayan namin na hotel, we arrived around 1030pm, gumimik sa padis and Albertos then started looking for a hotel at 130pm which we found just beside albertos. The hotel charged 1200 for a twin bed room with 1 free Massage worth around P400 ..not bad di ba.

Pababa we stopped by a new lookout point which showed a spectacular view of kennon road.

The trip was quick but was fun and was a definite relief from the stress of work and everyday life. PAgod sa katawan but relaxing sa utak. Something spontaneous with absolutely no plan. Just what the doctor order for week full of stress.

Thought for the Day

Upon remembering my College Days wherein my friends and I would outdo each other by memorizing trivial things like the value of pi or the complete value of the speed of light (instead of 3x10^8) ...the thought of the day:

"The Speed of light is 299 ,792, 458 m/s measured in a vacuum ..Chicks don't care ..If I knew the chords and can sing Heaven Knows..Chicks care"

Damn Maleh!

Life Mysteries and Wishes

Medyo paserious tong blog ko na to. I helped out a friend last sunday on her event for "Make a wish foundation" . It was suppose to grant the wish of 3 kids, they wished for a Gameboy, Gundam and Dragonball toy, they were stricken with a degenerative muscle disorder(I forgot the name, sinabi sa akin kaso nakalimutan ko talaga) . I learned that it had something to do with the genes and their mother passed this on to them. The sad part was that the same disorder is possibly passed on to all her children and all her female children are possible carriers as well and could pass this on to their children. This family had 10 children.

The 3 celebrants physical condition was startign to deteriorate, the 2 kids aged 10-12 was in wheel chairs while the 3rd one was having difficulty walking already. From what I was told, the 1st kid was just playing basketball , was tired and rested , the next day he couldnt move his legs. Same with the 2nd and 3rd kid. The 3rd kids limps now like he has polio. His other siblings are all happy and active, they all love to play basketball.

The foundation , instead of just giving them the toys, setup this elaborate party complete with a bounce cage, fun games, magic show food and prizes. Hats off to the sponsors and members specially of the Make a wish for the dedication they give.

The whole family was happy, all the kids where playing and having fun. I would peek at the 2 kids in wheelchair and I would see them staring at their other brothers playing basketball. I dont know what they could be thinking but I felt sorry for them even though I tried not to. The whole family was a happy looking family,Father and mother was happy, the father looked like one of those fun joes you meet , the cuddly teddybear kinda dad. Mom was one of those maternal looking moms.. yung nanay na nanay ang dating. Each sibling was always there to helpout their kuyas in the wheelchair. I'm not sure but the parents dont baby the kids in the wheelchair , they let them move by their own if they can or the other brothers would do it for them, maybe its like one of those techniques of making them independent or stronger .. I dont know actually.

The whole even was a success, during the magic act, that was the only time I saw the eldest one smile, he was always shy and had his head down. His eyes was full of sadness , and confidence was simply nowhere to be found. The saddest part of it was that the chances of them dying young was very high. Yup all 3 of them, who had shown signs are high chances of not making it. Their muscles would degenerate until God takes them back. I can't imagine how hard it would be to go through that ordeal, seeing your sons all fall victim(maybe this isnt the proper word) one by one. On Lord of the Rings the king said "A Father should never endure burrying his Son" , this family has 3 kids all possibly (I pray not) not living til 30 and a risk that the other of the 10 kids may follow. I thought, I wonder if the parents have known that it was hereditary yet they still had so many kids? Or maybe it is their belief that Gods will be done . I cannot fathom how complicated the emotions one can feel on having such a fate. Would the mom think of it as a curse or a challenge. How would each child feel knowing that they might be the same as their brother or how did the 3 celebrants feel? Grabe non, when I heard their story, I definitely believed that all the preparations for the party was worthwhile. To give at least a day of happiness for the celebrants was definitely worth all the effort.

I dont know the family very well but from what I Saw and what I was told, they were a happy family, and I guess the happiness and love in each of the member would help ease the pain for the whole family. That the laughter when the family is together would help absorb the tears, I hope the 3 kids still get better.

Valentines Trivia

Does anyone know who invented the template for this Cupid Cutout. This was on the mens restroom of our office, this is the same cupid shape we used when I was in gradeschool for our arts project. Our teacher made us trace this cutout into red cartolina and cut it for our valentines decorations in our classroom.. that was in the 80's. I bet this thing has been around since ...ever. I tried looking for it in the net but couldn't find it.

History Lessons from a Blind Man

Hinahatid sundo sila ng kooperatiba jeep na in between eh pinapampasada. Sila rin ay nagbibigayng at least percentage ng daily earnings for the cooperative.

Kinuwento nya how it all started. Ayon sa kanya, the Makati Jaycees were the ones who spearheaded the massage trend in the Philippines in the 70's.

Aside from the training he had, nagtraining sya pa non sa Ospital ng Maynila for human anatomy, tapos halo halo pa daw ang bulag at indi bulag sa class.

Nalipat sa other talent nya ang kwentuhan, so sya pala ay musician, He was a piano and organ player. Dati daw sa Shakeys west sya nagstart at nagpiapiano daw sya don nung 70's . Kaso there came a point na di na uso ang Piano and mga combo daw ang nauso so nawalan syang work . This was around the 80's ,I would assume this was the same time "The Dawn" came about , nauso ang mga banda durng that time. After non nagwork sya sa isang piano bar for a B-List entertainer sa may Dian. Siguro this was the time of Vernie Varga and other Lounge Singers then lumipat sya sa Kamayan to play the piano. There he stayed for a while pero during the 90's umalis daw sya kasi pinalitan sya ng mga trio. I guess that was the time the singing cooks and waiters came about..nagkaalbum pa nga sila eh mantakin mo yon.

He played in some bars din kaso nauso daw ang banda nanaman kaya no work for him, E-Heads era siguro to ..that was when he moved to playing with other blind musicians tapos nagtuturo sya ng music and massage. Dami raket din ni manong eh.Since nawala daw sya work.. don nya naisipan sumali sa cooperative which started from 14 members now at 200 members.

P150 for a good massage and a short non-mainstream history lesson. Not bad.
