My first costume party

For the first time nakaattend ako ng costume party. We decided to do a halloween party among friends. Joseph and Bhey the Party Connoiseurs made the event happen. I asked my friend Vanessa to do my makeup. It was actually a toss-up on what costume I would do as I could definitely pull off each costume easily. I chose between, Ron Jeremy, Aga Mulach or The Crow.. I chose the latter.

Mall Openings

I had to run to the mall to go the hardware store to buy a deadbolt. I really hate going to the mall for just one thing, its quite cumbersome , but I didnt have a choice this time. For some reason Market Market opens at 11am compared to the standard 10am so there was a huge queue of people waiting to go in. Its quite cool how everyone waits outside while all the mall emplyees walk in pass everybody like VIP's. 10 minutes pass and I'm in, its been a while since i've been in the mall that early, although it was 11am the whole atmosphere had a goodmorning feeling to it. You know the bonjour scene from beauty and the beast? Where everyone is cleaning up and preparing for the long day. That was how it felt, it was though everything was so fresh, sales ladies where opening the doors, fixing the window displays para bang kulangna lang eh background music tipong I say a little prayer for you or some disney song.

Avoiding love stories..palpak

Kamote, for a year now since I've been single , I have avoided love stories in movies and songs for the simple reason that this is depressing stuff. Now I think I've hit a snag and there's no work around for it. Im a wedding photographer, I do this to earn money to buy more equipment, just an hour ago I was doing an album for a guestbook. a coffee table book type guestbook where I would use the shots I took from the Pre-nup pictorial . I pumped up the cd player with this opm CD of filipino love songs and started making the pages, running the pictures over and over again trying to tie up the different pictures together to make a sort of love story.. Yun ang problema. I stopped 60% done to rest and suddenly realized I was terribly in to it. You know the feeling when you watch a love story..yung kinikilig feeling , parang amped ka to hug someone... yon..daleh ako. Crap this is the exact reason why I dont watch love stories in movies ... to avoid this feeling. Sucks. Well no way around this as I have 3 albums to finish plus it gets worst as I do the wedding albums itself. Kamote talaga. haay haay at isa pang haay. Dont get me wrong, very useful ang feeling when making the albums, pumped up ako , creative juices flowing kaso once im done me residual effect medyo nakakalungkot. well kailangan itulog or igimik na lang to...

Boxing Match

Just saw my very first live boxing match last weekend. My friend Gia(yes she's a girl) invited me to her first match. I definitely didnt let this chance pass in doing my first sport shoot . Plus its kinda cool to see a serious girls boxing match.

Definitely nothing beats boxing as a spectator sport specially if you personally know the person in the ring. Its not like basketball wherein after the game if you lose you feel bad .. if you lose in boxing you feel bad ..in more ways than one.. I mean you really feel bad ..you're hurting all over literally because you got pounded on. I was really nervous watchin Gia, she was like a younger sister and pretty too so it would really be a shame if she got pounded on. Plus her opponent wasnt as pretty so ..lugi talaga pag napuruhan sya. Anyway to the delight of everyone cheering for her , she won via tko midway into the first round. She hit her opponent with a haymaker in one of the scuffle. Her opponent was on glass legs then went to her corner and threw in the towel. Great Job Gia.

The Man of Steel

Signal Number 3 , typhoon Milenyo, swept thru metro manila like Godzilla in Tokyo. Everything looked like a Jerry Bruckheimer Movie. Floods , Fallen Trees , Debris, Structures fallen over cars and bridges. Trucks being tumbled down by the wind, the worst hit was the thriving billboard industry in metro manila which seems to have grown in abundance the past 3 years. On the South Luzon Expressway all of the towers for billboard are wrecked or have been closed out. There was one 30foot billboard which was bent over and is just 5ft from falling all the way to the houses besides it. The south luzon expressway was just cleaned off billboards..except for one soul surviving billboard..unscathed by the monster storm. Ant the Billboard was for the Superman Movie. He was definitely the Man of Steel.

Thought for the Day

We had a visitor from the US, his name was Russ from Austin. It was his first time in Manila and was so amazed and thrilled how at home and unalienated he felt when he got here. That was considering he just came from Singapore and Bangalore. But what really stuck to me was one comment he said which I felt really tells the story of our little own City, which is my thought for the day...

He said while looking at the cars in traffic particularly a taxi with some ornaments at the back.. "You know what I really like about this place, there is so much attitude in the different things around us" .. And he was right, just like the pimped out Jeepneys and Cellphones.. We definitely have attitude.
